Refugees from Ukraine receive a living allowance for food, clothing and other personal expenses, unless these things are donated to them. Refugees who live with a host family also receive an extra allowance.

Because the cost of living has recently increased, the living allowance amounts have been adjusted in line with inflation. The new amounts are based on the minimum cost of living calculated by the National Institute for Family Finance Information (Nationaal Instituut voor Budgetvoorlichting, Nibud). Below you can read how much living allowance refugees from Ukraine have been receiving since 1 October 2023.

Money for food and drink

The amount for food depends on the size of the family. The more people in a family, the lower the amount per person will be. NB: If a refugee is living in a municipal reception centre, the municipality can opt to provide meals. In that case the refugee will not receive any money for food and drink.

• If a family is made up of 1 or 2 people, the family receives € 242.48 for each adult (or single underage person) and € 200.65 per underage person per month.
• If a family is made up of 3 people, the family receives € 193.98 per adult and € 160.64 per underage person per month.
• If a family is made up of 4 people or more, the family receives € 169.74 per adult and € 140.34 per underage person per month.

Money for clothing and personal expenses

The amount for clothing and personal expenses is € 60.71 per person per month.

Extra allowance for refugees living with a host family

If a refugee is living in private accommodation, for example with a host family, the refugee will receive an extra allowance for living costs of € 80.91 per person per month.

Working and the living allowance

If someone aged eighteen or older starts working, the living allowance of his or her entire family will be discontinued. The same occurs if someone aged 18 or older starts receiving a benefit from the Dutch government, for example unemployment benefit or an incapacity benefit. Working still generates more income: Anyone who works 3 days a week for minimum wage, will already be earning more than the living allowance.

NB: Young people aged 18 and over who live with their parents are regarded as a separate family. Consequently, if they start working, their parents and any underage brothers and sisters will continue to receive the living allowance.

Гроші на їжу та напої

Сума на харчування залежить від розміру сім’ї. Чим більше людей в сім’ї, тим менша сума на одну особу. Зверніть увагу, що якщо хтось живе в муніципальному притулку, муніципалітет може прийняти рішення про забезпечення харчуванням. Тоді біженець не отримає грошей на їжу та напої.

• Якщо сім’я складається з 1 або 2 осіб, сім’я буде отримувати на дорослого (або неповнолітнього без супроводу) € 242,48 і на неповнолітнього € 200,65 на місяць.

Гроші на одяг та особисті витрати

Сума на одяг та особисті витрати становить €60.71 на людину на місяць.

Додаткова надбавка у разі проживання в приймаючій сім’ї

Біженець проживає в приватному секторі, наприклад, у приймаючій сім’ї? Тоді біженець отримуватиме додаткову допомогу на житло в розмірі €80,91 на особу на місяць.

Робота та гроші на проживання

Якщо особа у віці 18 років або старше починає працювати, виплата грошової допомоги на проживання її всієї родини припиняється. Це також трапляється, коли особа віком від 18 років отримує допомогу від уряду Нідерландів, наприклад, допомогу по безробіттю або допомогу по інвалідності. Той, хто працює, заробляє більше: якщо ви працюєте 3 дні на тиждень за мінімальну зарплату, то ви вже заробляєте більше за суми грошової допомоги на проживання.
